I studied the professional bachelor in IT Architecture at Business Academy Aarhus (Erhvervsakademi Aarhus) from 2022 until I graduated in January 2026, alongside working as a developer.
- Enterprise architecture: how business and IT fit together
- Programming and system development: C#, web, databases and development methods
- Integration and infrastructure: integration patterns, networks and cloud
- Business and project management: business understanding and IT project management
Mine was six months with the IT architects at Aarhus University. See the project page.
- Big-picture thinkers who want to understand how everything fits together
- People who like technology and people, and want to work with both the tech and the business
- Career changers who bring domain knowledge into IT
- Anyone aiming for IT or solution architect roles
- Join or help with student initiatives. I was a tutor in "Ned i koden", helping other students with C# and JavaScript, and it taught me as much as it taught them
- Get a student job in the industry early. It makes every course more concrete
- Pick your internship wisely: choose one that matches the role you want afterwards
- Write as you go: document your projects along the way. It becomes your portfolio
Is it more programming or more business? In my experience it leans technical: there is a solid amount of programming and technical architecture, with business understanding built on top.
What jobs can you get? IT architect, software developer, solution architect, business/IT consultant
