As a software architect I spend my time on the decisions that are expensive to change later: how a system is split up, how its parts talk to each other, where the data lives, and how we move an old system forward without breaking the business that depends on it.
Day to day that means system models, architecture decision records, design reviews and still plenty of hands-on C#.
I started in IT support straight after primary school, wrote my first .bat launcher in 2015 and my first PHP website (with game hosting, user accounts and live chat) in 2016. After four years as a military logistics specialist in the Royal Danish Air Force, I went back to school for a bachelor in IT Architecture, tutored other students in programming, led the IT group at Aarhus Symposium, interned with the IT architects at Aarhus University, and grew from student developer to Software Architect at Oscilla.
